TruCare Health is proud to offer our patients the latest in advanced diagnostic testing services. We offer on-site diagnostic assessments to provide you with the information you and your provider need to make an informed decision regarding your healthcare. Our services include
Allergy testing is a vital tool available to allergy sufferers, which is used to identify specific allergens. Once specific allergens are identified, TruCare Health practitioners can create a treatment plan aimed at managing or even eliminating your allergy symptoms. These tests are the most current and accurate methods of allergen identification, providing an evidence-based approach to allergy care.
Allergy skin tests are a safe, fast, painless, and accurate method to identify the allergens that trigger your allergy symptoms. Typically, allergy skin tests are used to uncover reactions to potential allergens such as trees, shrubs, weed and grass pollens, molds, household dust, dust mites, animal dander and feathers, certain foods, medications, as well as insect venom. TruCare Health also offers advanced food allergy testing.
TruCare Health is proud to offer Immunotherapy to our patients suffering from allergies. Immunotherapy is an advanced allergy treatment that ultimately eliminates the need to treat the symptom by eliminating the cause. While other allergy treatments (such as antihistamines or corticosteroids) treat only the symptoms of allergic disease and may be the correct choice for ailments such as seasonal allergies, immunotherapy is the only available treatment that can modify the natural course of the allergic disease.
In the past, Immunotherapy involved a series of injections or shots administered regularly, for several years, by an allergy specialist. However at TruCare Health we offer sublingual immunotherapy, which the patient administers at home. The patient places small drops of the medication under their tongue, which releases tiny amounts of an allergen, with progressively increasing dosages. Our patients’ slowly and steadily build resistance to the allergen. Eventually their body learns to ignore the allergen and allergy symptoms subside or disappear altogether. Immunotherapy offers allergy sufferers the chance to eventually reduce or stop symptomatic/rescue medication. The therapy is indicated for people who are extremely allergic or who cannot avoid specific allergens. For example, they may not be able to live a normal life and completely avoid pollen, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, and certain other common triggers of allergic reactions.

Endopat is a vascular test that allows compression on your veins and once released will show us readings of the strength of blood flow and the elasticity of your arteries. This test will also allow us to do additional testing for any arterial blockage and plaque build-up that you may have.
An echocardiogram is a test in which ultrasound is used to examine the heart. In addition to providing single-dimension images, the echocardiogram also offers far more sophisticated and advanced imaging, referred to as “two-dimensional (2-D) echo.” A 2-D echocardiogram is capable of displaying a cross-sectional “slice” of the beating heart, including the chambers, valves and the major blood vessels that exit from the left and right ventricles.
During an echocardiogram, sticky patches (electrodes) are attached to your chest and shoulders and connected to wires. These help to record the electrocardiogram (EKG) during the echocardiography test. The EKG helps record the timing of various cardiac events, such as the filling and emptying of chambers. Next, a colorless gel is applied to the chest and the echo transducer is placed on top of it. The echo technologist makes recordings from different parts of the chest to obtain several views of the heart. Images of the heart are visible on a monitor during the test and are also recorded on both photographic paper as well as videotape which is then reviewed by the physician prior to completion of the final report.
TruCare Health offers a variety of in house diagnostic testing allowing our patient’s the comfort of having additional testing without the hassle of going to a different facility. We offer: Echocardiograms, Carotid Ultrasounds, Abdominal Aorta doppler, Arterial/Venous doppler, Thyroid, Prostate & Bladder, Testicular, Pelvic, as well as all extremities.
TruCare Health offers balance testing to assist your provider in better understanding your health. Using this test, we can determine whether you have balance disorder, are a fall risk or even if some of your medications could be causing your issues. This type of testing can help you better protect yourself from balance disorders or falls.
We also offer VNG testing, a series of tests designed to document a person’s ability to follow visual objects with their eyes and how well the eyes respond to information from the vestibular system. This test also addresses the functionality of each ear and if a vestibular deficit may be the cause of a dizziness or balance problem.
TruCare Health now offers Carotid Intima Media Thickness (CIMT) test to identify our patients most at risk for heart attack and stroke. Unlike other tests that involve the use of a small dose of radiation, the CIMT is a non-invasive test that uses sound waves not radiation and is uniquely suited to detect not just calcific (hard) plaques but more subtle soft plaques in the carotid arteries (the arteries of the neck). Many studies have shown that the presence of carotid plaque correlates very well with coronary plaque (plaque in the heart arteries). The easy access to the carotid arteries in the neck therefore makes this test a very useful tool to indirectly assess your heart arteries.
Using this ultrasound (sound waves) we are able to detect and quantify vascular disease and cardiovascular risk before any symptoms occur. The CIMT measures the thickness of the inner two layers of your carotid arteries (the intima and media) and the analysis tells our providers about your health and your risk for cardiovascular disease. Early detection of increased thickness may indicate the need for a more aggressive approach to managing the risk factors causally associated with heart disease and stroke. In addition, the scan is able to detect presence of plaques in the arteries – a manifestation of more significant vascular disease.
This scan takes 10 minutes and is performed by a sonographer. No preparation is needed for the test and there is no radiation and no injections involved in the scan. Also, you do not need to disrobe for the test.
Ask your provider at TruCare Health for more information on how the CIMT test may benefit your plan of care.
